Exam Interview Nerves

It is completely normal and, in some ways, a positive thing to feel some anxiety when preparing for exams, interviews or public speaking events as it can focus your attention keeping you alert. However, if anxiety becomes out of control it can interfere with clear, coherent, and creative thinking and presenting. Pressure to perform can lead to a range of physical and mental health issues, it can affect the way you think, feel and behave, impacting on your everyday life.

It can really be a trigger for some people the very mention of the word test or exam. Clients I have seen have literally experienced blind panic – they can’t remember a thing – even though on any other day without an examiner present they can recall everything.

The brain doesn’t know the difference between imagination and reality and if clients keep re-running the same loop of what might go wrong it can really create huge obstacles. Angela will work to help you alter your patterns of behaviour using a combination of hypnotherapy and psychotherapy to help you find your flow, so you can be calm, confident and in control using a far more practical approach in the right frame of mind.
